Arno Basson knife - G8FF knife Elmax steel FAT Carbon Darkmatter blue - linerlock folder made in South Africa
What an ingenious folder! That's what I thought after a few seconds after I received the first delivery from the young knife maker Arno Basson (JAB Knives) from South Africa. Be sure to read his biography in the category overview.
Many of his work steps are done by hand, especially everything that concerns the finish. And it's the little things that make the knife something special. Clip and liner have an "orange peel". The blade has a wonderful two-tone finish that is satin-finished by hand. The shape of the knife with the blade folded out is a dream.
But the nice thing is that he has an eye for color combinations himself. I don't have to say much about that. He looks for himself what fits the selected handle material and anodizes accordingly.
I'm looking forward to this new collaboration and I think there's still a lot to come.
